The GFW girls’ basketball teams traveled to St. Clair on Tuesday, January 14 for a non-conference game against the Cyclones.

The T-Birds worked hard and kept the game tight through the first half. They rebounded well, and their shots were on target. The teams headed into the halftime break tied at 23-all.

After the break, however, the Cyclones made some changes and the T-Birds’ shooting went cold. They only managed to add another 16 points to their total, while St. Clair scored nearly double that.

At the final buzzer, the Cyclones came away with the victory, with a final score of 39-54.

Brynn Busse led the T-birds with 18 points, two assists, six rebounds and one steal, while Abby Heimkes added seven points, eight rebounds and two steals.

Abby Lee scored four points and had one assist, seven rebounds and two steals, Ana Caldwell had three points, one assist, one rebound and four steals, Taylor Haas scored three points and had five rebounds, and Shelby Ramirez added two points and three rebounds. Makayla Aylsworth rounded out the stats with two points and one steal.
