The GFW Thunderbird boys’ basketball teams hosted the Sleepy Eye Indians in a Tomahawk Conference matchup on Monday, January 22 in Winthrop.
The T-Birds controlled the tip, and Alex Johnson scored the first point of the game with a free throw. The teams battled back and forth, trading baskets and working hard to defend their hoop over the next several minutes.

The GFW boys’ varsity basketball team traveled to Westbrook on Saturday, January 20th to face the Mavericks of Martin County West.
Coming off their victory over Wabasso the night before, the T-Birds rolled into this game and almost immediate built themselves a significant lead. With just a few minutes left in the first half, they had generated a 25-point advantage.

The Cedar Mountain boys’ varsity basketball team headed to Springfield on Tuesday, January 23 for a conference battle against the Tigers.
The Cougars kept things close early on, but as the first half progressed, the Tigers started to pull out in front. By the halftime break, the Cougars were facing a 33-43 deficit.

The Cedar Mountain boys’ varsity basketball team faced the Falcons of Red Rock Central in a fast-paced, down-to-the-wire battle on Thursday, February 1st in Morgan.
The tip went to the Falcons and the first point of the game came in the form of a Falcon free throw.

The GFW boys’ varsity basketball team hosted the Cougars of Cedar Mountain in a Tomahawk Conference battle on Thursday, January 25.
This was the second meeting of the season for these two teams. The Cougars earned the victory the first time around and the T-Birds were hoping for a different result this time around.

The Cedar Mountain boys’ varsity basketball team headed for Bird Island on Thursday, January 18 for a non-conference basketball game against the BOLD Warriors.
The Warriors jumped out in front early in this contest and never looked back. By the halftime break, the Cougars were facing a 17-36 deficit.

The Cedar Mountain Lady Cougars hosted the Nicollet Raiders in a non-conference matchup on Monday, January 22 in Morgan.
The Cougars put the first points on the board with a free throw by Hailey Hollar. The teams traded points and the lead several times over the next several minutes.
