Bernice Holm, age 100, of Northfield, MN formerly of Winthrop, MN and New Ulm, MN died on Monday, May 15, 2023 at Northfield Long Term Care Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with Father Gerald Meidl officiating. Burial will follow in St. Willibrord’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Gibbon, MN. Visitation will be held from 8:30-10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH chapel in New Ulm.

Bernice Frances Holm was born on January 26, 1923 in New Ulm to John and Lillian (Berg) Hillesheim. She attended Clear Lake country school. On October 20, 1943 she was united in marriage to Henry Holm in New Ulm. The couple was blessed with four children. Bernice and Henry raised their family on the family farm outside of Winthrop. Bernice enjoyed bowling, dancing, making rugs, playing cards with family, traveling, gardening and canning, embroidery, and had a great love of laughter. She was a long-time member of St. Willibrord’s Catholic Church in Gibbon then joined Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, where she’s been a member for the last 15 years. Countless memories were made in her 100 years but she will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved her.

Bernice is survived by her daughters, Marjorie Liebl of Lakeville, Joyce (Gregory) Fults of Lindstrom, Pauline “Polly” (Michael) Wilson of River Falls, WI; son, Roger (Karen) Holm of Winthrop; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Gladys (Kenneth) Salfer of Wabasso; brother, Lester (Cathy) Hillesheim of New Ulm; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Holm; son-in-law, Ralph Liebl; grandchild, baby Ralph; sisters, Irene (Arthur) Schlumpberger, Vera (Albert) Hoffman, Marcella (Raymond) Wenninger; brothers, Erwin (Elaine) Hillesheim, Leo (Margaret) Hillesheim; sister-in-law, Thelma Hillesheim.

Memorials are preferred to the Northfield Long Term Care Foundation or donor’s choice.
