DELORES “LORRIE” BUBOLTZ

Delores “Lorrie” Buboltz, age 93, of Bird Island, MN, died Thursday, January 8, 2026 at the Olivia Hospital.

 Memorial services will be Monday, February 2, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Bird Island with Rev. Kari Shumaker officiating. Burial will be in the Bird Island City Cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. The family will have a Celebration of Lorrie’s Life during the summer.

Delores Ora Buboltz was born September 2, 1932 to Clarence and Arvilla (Ewer) Beckler on the family farm North of Bird Island. She was baptized and later confirmed into the Lutheran Faith at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Bird Island. Lorrie was raised in Bird Island and attended school there, graduating in 1950.

Lorrie was united in marriage to Charles Buboltz on June 23, 1951 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Bird Island and they were blessed with four sons Gregory, Keith, Robin, and Timothy. Together they farmed, raising crops, dairy cows, chickens, hogs, and feeder cattle. Living on the farm site for over 67 years, many memories were made there.

Lorrie was a lifelong member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church where she participated in various groups and committees. Her greatest blessings in her life were her husband, family, friends, and faith. She cherished every visit and was so grateful to everyone for spending time with her, especially Mary and Allen, for coming for coffee every day, either in the morning or evening. She was a loving and devoted mom, keeping her boys in line as much as she could but also realizing that life with four sons was bound to be chaotic. Her calm presence and understanding was apparent with her favorite statement, “that’s okay.” Her quiet but powerful spirit will always be remembered.

Lorrie is survived by her sons, Greg (Lori) Buboltz of Wahpeton, ND, Robin (Jane) Buboltz of Naples, FL, and Tim Buboltz of Bird Island; daughter-in-law, Diane Buboltz of Naples, FL; five grandchildren, Jessica Buboltz (Bradley Seiman), Daniel (Ashley) Buboltz, Erik (Carola) Buboltz, Jeremy (Lisa) Buboltz, and Kjerstin Buboltz; four great-grandchildren, Kyle and Ashley Buboltz and Anthony and Eloise Buboltz; her step-granddaughters, Kim Reiser and her children, Olivia and Evan, and Toni Eterose and her son, Tyler.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie; son, Keith Buboltz; brothers and sisters-in-law: Clarence (Marcie), Douglas (Mary), and Harlan (Rosie); and sisters and brothers-in-law, Geraldine (Kelly), Helen (Darrel), and Arvilla.
