Dorothy M. Johnson, age 87, of Gibbon, MN passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024.

A Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Augustana Lutheran Church in Gibbon with Pastor Leonard Hummel officiating. A celebration of life Luncheon will follow at the church. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – Gibbon chapel.

To honor Dorothy, please wear her favorite color, blue, to the visitation and celebration of life.

Dorothy was born July 13, 1937 in St. Paul, MN. She attended Johnson High School, class of 1955, and Gustavus Adolphus College, class of 1959. She married John Johnson on September 26, 1959. Together they raised three children and were blessed with nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren throughout their 65 years of marriage.

Dorothy dedicated many years of service to the American Red Cross, and participated in Paint and Putter, book clubs, and various youth and women’s groups at Augustana Lutheran Church. Dorothy enjoyed spending summers at the cabin in Walker, happy hours on the porch, playing cards and board games, photography, traveling, and snowbirding in Bokeelia, Florida. She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed. Blessed be her memory

Dorothy is survived by her husband, John Johnson; children, Nancy (Brian) Dahl, Mark (Jennifer) Johnson, and Barb Johnson Larson; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, Hanna and Lawrence Rylander; and siblings, Bill Rylander, Anita Rylander, and Carol Farrell.
