Gary Gruenhagen, age 75, passed away Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm, MN.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2022 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Moltke Township. Pastor Karl Grant will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in Moltke Township. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2022 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Moltke Township.

Gary Lee Gruenhagen was born September 17, 1946 to Henry and Iona (Buboltz) Gruenhagen. He was baptized on September 24, 1946 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, attended St. Peter’s Lutheran School, and was confirmed April 10, 1960 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Gary graduated from Gibbon High School in 1964 and went on to earn a Bachelor’s in Mathematics at Mankato State University.

After graduating, Gary was drafted into the United States Military and was stationed in Germany. When he finished his service, Gary returned home and began farming with his brother, Steve, on the family farm. In addition to farming, Gary was an avid reader, fisherman, and family man. His family was central to his life and he cared very deeply about everyone. He will be missed by those that knew him.

Gary is survived by his siblings, Steven (Kathi) Gruenhagen of Gibbon, Marcia (Kim) Meindl of Detroit Lakes, Deanna Pomplun of Gibbon; sister-in-law, Judy Gruenhagen; special great-nephew, Rylee Gruenhagen; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Allen Gruenhagen.
