JIM W. GRUENDEMANN

Jim W. Gruendemann

June 12, 1937-February 12, 2024

Jim Gruendemann, formerly of Morgan, MN, was born on June 12,1937 and took his last earthly breath on February 12, 2024. He is now at peace with his Father in Heaven.

Jim’s celebration of life service was held on Monday, February 19,2024 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Baxter, MN.

Upon entering Heaven and embracing his son Todd, he asked: “What’s for dinner?”, played a round of cribbage, and waited for the Wolves game to start. He met up with his buddies from Bear Paw. They began where they left off with “smart” talk, dumb jokes, and rolling chuckles. Most of which are directed at the loving families surrounding them on the beach. Even in the fog of his last days, Jim made jokes with his care team and family.

Jim was proud of his kids, grandkids, and great-grandson. The family grew with boyfriends, girlfriends, husbands, and wives. He embraced them all. He engaged deeply with them. He kept track of all their activities, school, and work lives. He made sure to warn them about the weather when they traveled.

Jim connected with many through the years through work, church, and personal relationships. He will be missed. Good memories will live on.

Jim is survived by the mother of his children, Eunice Gruendemann; his daughters, Lynn (Jim) Miller and Kay (Phil) Aarrestad; grandchildren, Zach Gruendemann, Tyler Snook, Emily (Logan) Lauder, Dain Aarrestad, Jaden (Hannah) Miller, Brendan Miller; and his great-grandson, Levin Lauder.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Lilas, and his son, Todd.

The family requests memorial tributes be directed to MN Adult and Teen Challenge, Brainerd Campus.
