John Francis Flock

April 1, 1952-January 10, 2023

John Flock passed away on January 10, 2023 at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System in Seattle, WA after a courageous battle with CMML Leukemia.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Milaca, MN. Visitation will take place from 4-7 p.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Private burial will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.

John Francis Flock was born in Sleepy Eye, MN on April 1, 1952 to William and Wilhelmina (Schroepfer) Flock. He grew up in Morgan and graduated from Morgan High School in 1970. John served in the Army for two years and then made a career working as an area manager for Frontier Communications. John married Mary Redmond in 1986 and moved their family to Milaca.

John was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He served as an usher, helped with the election day dinner, served on the Knights of Columbus and helped deliver Meals on Wheels. John was an active member of the American Legion, helped with Music in the Park and was a past member of the Chamber of Commerce.

John enjoyed bowling, golfing, mowing the lawn, but his favorite pastimes were fishing and spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. John retired in 2007. He enjoyed fishing on many of the area lakes with his fishing buddies. You could always find John and Mary at any of the “grands” school functions and activities. The family would go on an annual summer vacation with all of John’s siblings and their families.

John is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters, Dena (Todd) Hasz of Foreston, Diana (Matthew) Udovich of Sartell; grandchildren, Trace and Grace Hasz and Marcus and Isaac Udovich; siblings, Ann Weber, George (Kathy) Flock, Bill (Joyce) Flock, Cheryl Rompa, Virgil (Lori) Flock, Paul Flock, Dolores (Tom) Pistulka; and many nieces and nephews and good friends.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Bill (1996), Minnie (2011); brother, Allan (1977) and brother-in-law, Ron Weber (2016).

The Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca, MN are assisting the family with arrangements at this time.
