Marilyn Ann (Christensen) Arlt, age 77, passed away peacefully in her sleep at The Fountains at Hosanna in Lakeville, MN, on September 2, 2024.
Marilyn was born in Sleepy Eye, MN, on September 15, 1946, and graduated from Morgan High School in 1964. She married her high school sweetheart, David Arlt, in 1965, and they lived most of their lives raising their family in Apple Valley, MN, until his passing in 2013.
Marilyn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and dedication to her family and faith. She was a passionate fan of her children’s and grandchildren’s school, sports and extra-curricular activities. She enthusiastically showed her unwavering support with her cheers, positive encouragement, and endless smiles and hugs. She loved hosting “grandma and grandpa camp” every summer, taking extended family camping trips to state parks in MN and WI, baking, playing Scrabble, and watching Wheel of Fortune.
Marilyn will be buried next to her husband, David, in a private graveside ceremony.
She is survived by her daughters, Deb (Eric) Anderson, of Minneapolis, and Sarah (David) Lutz, of Keller, TX; her five grandchildren, Hayden, Lyndy, and Nolan Anderson, and Amelia and Quinn Lutz; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, David Arlt; her parents, Arlin and Melva Christensen; her brother, Reynold Christensen; and her niece, Lori Christensen.
