She grew up on the Art Kiecker farm in Wellington Township. She married Raymond Clobes on July 1st 1951 at Wellington Lutheran Church. She then joined St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fairfax. Ray and Marion farmed and raised beef cattle and hogs on the Clobes Family farm in Wellington township. They were blessed with five children.
Marion enjoyed hosting family and friends get-to-gathers. Her greatest pastime was fishing with Ray and there her sons, which she kept up until age 92. She loved going to Lake Winnie and went fishing every chance she had. She was formidable to watch in a boat with a reel in her hand. She loved seeing her children, their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
After Ray and Marion retired and moved to town, she volunteered for Prison Ministries and Meals on Wheels. She belonged to a group of friends called the Bun Ladies. They baked the best buns ever made. She assisted the St. John’s Lutheran School kitchen when freezing and canning food for school lunches.
Marion was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Ladies Aid and served the church members gracefully. Marion’s faith in the Lord sustained her life through every moment, good or bad, being an only child, faith and family meant more to her than anything. She was a true force of life.
