Robert “Bob” Wayne Bemmels, age 76, of Palm Coast, FL, formerly of Fairfax, MN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at AdventHealth in Orlando, FL, surrounded by family. He was a devoted husband, cherished father, and loving grandpa. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who knew him.

Visitation was held Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax. The family requests memorials in his memory to the IMRG Twin Cities 2015 (imrgtwincities.com) or IMRG Daytona Beach 1949 (daytonaimrg1949.com) chapters.

Born in Fairfax, MN, Bob grew up on a family farm alongside his two brothers, Jerry and Kenny, and his sister, Betty (Lehar). After graduating from high school, Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He then built a successful career in the food industry, dedicating over 40 years Frito Lay, Tradewinds Pizza, and Old Dutch.

Bob married his high school sweetheart, Judy Schroeder, on March 28, 1967, and together they built a beautiful life and family. They were blessed with three children: Lynnae, Bobby, and Wade. Over the years, their family grew to include nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom learned so much from their grandpa. Bob loved sharing his passion for the outdoors with his family, especially through camping and fishing, creating countless treasured memories together.

Bob was an avid snowmobiler and a passionate racer, dedicating much of his life to both car and snowmobile racing. His competitive spirit and love for the open road led him to participate in numerous races, where he earned the respect and admiration of his peers. Bob also played an active role in the motorcycling community, serving as a dedicated board member of the Indian Motorcycle Riders Group (IMRG) in both the Twin Cities and Daytona Beach, FL. His enthusiasm for speed and adventure was matched by his commitment to fostering a close-knit community of fellow riders.

Outside of racing, Bob found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time with his grandchildren. Whether it was fishing, boating, or teaching them about the outdoors, Bob’s love for his family was always at the heart of everything he did. After he and his beloved wife Judy moved permanently to Florida, he embraced life in the Sunshine State. He spent his days soaking up the warm weather, watching the birds, dolphins, and wildlife that surrounded their home. His love for nature and family made every moment he spent with them a cherished memory.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Judy Ann (Schroeder) Bemmels; and their three children, Lynnae, Robert Jr. (Danielle), and Wade (Kacie). He was a proud grandfather to his nine grandchildren; Heather, Da’Lynn, Darrell, Brielle, Bella, Breckin, Ryder, Chase, and Alexa. Robert also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Tahli and Andre, all of whom will carry on his legacy of love, beliefs and devotion.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenny, and his sister, Betty.
