Shirley Frickson, age 84, of Fairfax MN, passed away November 17, 2021 at Meadows on Fairview in Wyoming, MN after a brief bout with pneumonia.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Central Lutheran Church, 64268 430th St, Franklin MN. Visitation one hour prior at church.
Shirley Ann Hass was born January 25, 1937 in Sac City IA to Fred and Marjorie (Longman) Hass. She grew up on a farm with her siblings; after high school she went to nursing school and additional education for physical therapy.
Shirley met Wilbert Frickson while in nursing school and they married at Central Lutheran Church on February 25, 1962.
She and Wilbert operated a dairy farm, while raising their family. Shirley worked her entire career as a physical therapist serving patients in the Fairfax Clinic, the local nursing home, and also with home visiting. She was also actively involved in her church community, and coordinated missions donation efforts reaching into Kentucky.
Shirley retired in 1999 and enjoyed traveling across the globe with her husband. In 2007 after Wilbert passed away, she moved to Hutchinson MN, and then subsequently to Wyoming, MN.
Her last years were spent as an active member of the Meadows on Fairview Assisted Living Community where she was passionate about her gardening, crafting and a myriad of social activities. She was well loved by the residents and staff there.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Frickson; parents, Fred and Marjorie Hass; sister, Betty (Hass) Eberhard and brother-in-law, Julius Eberhard; brother ,James Hass; niece, Lola Eberhard; nephew, Eddie Eberhard and son-in-law, David Swim.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Elizabeth (Frickson) Swim; son, Ed (Laura) Frickson; son, Fredrick Frickson; grandchildren, Megan, Hannah, Tyler and Alyssa; sister, Peggy (Jerry) Niles; brother, Russell (Cathie) Hass; sister-in-law, Kitty Hass; many nieces and nephews and several great-grand-children.
A special thank you to the staff at Meadows on Fairview for their loving care of Shirley for the past 3+ years.
Memorial contributions will go towards enhancements in the garden center at Meadows on Fairview.
