Vern Binger, age 87, passed away at Monarch Rehabilitation Center (Sleepy Eye Care Center), Sleepy Eye, MN on January 23, 2025.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on February 1, 2025 at River Valley Christian Church, 100 N Washington St., New Ulm, MN 56073. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Vern Gustav Binger was born July 7, 1937, to Gustav and Elvira (Berger) Binger. He attended school in Hector, MN. Vern was a farm hand, milk truck driver and worked in maintenance at various places. He has lived at the Sleepy Eye Care Center the last four years and enjoyed all the activities and music that was provided. He attended many community events in these years also.

Vern is survived by children, Jean Merkel, Janet (Matt) Rucker, Bonnie (Robert) Binger, Cindy Montes, and Don (Sylvia) Binger; grandchildren, Steve Binger, Dan and Jeff Merkel, Janelle Fields, Jaclyn and Justin Holm, Erica (Jamie) Flickinger, Rachel (Tierney) Ahlness and Tim Tierney, Jordan Ahlbrecht, Janessa (Archerd) Wiedl and Brendon Archerd, Amber Hagen, Shyla and Cody Binger, and Bria and Chaz Vega; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his children, Mary (Sue) Binger, Gerald (Jerry) Binger, James Binger, Sherri Binger, Jon Binger, Kevin Binger, and Jody Binger; grandsons, Brandon Binger and Corey Binger; parents, Gustav and Elvira Binger; sister, Ludena Kutzke Rousch; brother, Duaine Binger and Lavira (Tootie) Westphal; wives, Margaret, Anne (Pagel), and Betty (Blunt).
