Raymond Alvin Siemer, age 86 of New Ulm, MN passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side, on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Oak Hills Living Center.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes – South chapel, in New Ulm.

Visitation will be from 9-11 am on Friday, prior to the service.

Raymond Alvin Siemer was born July 5, 1935, in Morgan, MN to Frank and Viola (Dallman) Siemer. He enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Hawaii from 1957-1959.

Ray was united in marriage to Arleen Stueber and together they raised their three daughters. For a majority of his life, Ray was employed as a salesman, until he created, owned, and operated Midwest Concrete Grooving. Ray enjoyed entertaining family and friends while relishing in a good brandy and fishing while spending time at his cabin on Lake Allie.

In the last few years of his life, many days Ray could be found outside Oak Hills, on his scooter, in his signature hat and jacket, waving to numerous people passing by.

A special thanks to the staff and all who gave heartfelt care to Ray, at Oak Hills Living Center and New Ulm Medical Center Hospice. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

Ray is survived by his daughters, Barb “Snook” (Pat) Faerber, Patty “Peanuts” (Mike) Faerber and Anna “Tootsie” (Mike) Bastian, all of New Ulm; his grandchildren, Bobby (Ashley Martin) Faerber, Mary (Kurt) Wurtzberger, Michelle (Marcel) Hofmann, Amber (Ryan Hoffmann) Faerber, Abby (Matt) Holmgren, Allison (Trey) Strei, and Audra Bastian; five great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Jeanette Gores; and a brother in infancy, Jimmy Siemer.
