GENE AND BETTY FRANK
Wenzel (Gene) Frank was born on November 9, 1927 and died December 9, 2020 peacefully at his home in Sun Lakes, AZ. He was 93 years old.
Elizabeth (Betty) (nee Kiecker) Frank was born July 14, 1932 and died May 18, 2021 peacefully at her daughter’s home in San Angelo, TX, where she had moved after Gene’s death. Betty was 88 years old. They were married 66 years.
Both spent their early years in Fairfax. Gene was the son of Wenzel and Babe Frank. Betty was the daughter of Edmund and Minnie Kiecker.
Gene served in three branches of military, joining the Navy, transferring to the Army/Air Force and finishing his long career in the Army. Betty started work at her future father-in-law’s bank in Fairfax. After marrying on September 11, 1954, they began the life of military travelers. Gene’s career in the Army was the longest, being in both the Korean and Viet Nam wars. They lived in many states and countries in their lifetime together.
Betty served as a military wife, mother, and federal employee at and near some of the bases they were stationed.
They are survived by three children, Bill Frank (Lorrie), Laura Johnson (Ted), and Lucy Bennet (John); grandchildren, Samantha Grell, Michael Johnson and Kristi Butler, along with 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
Both will be greatly missed by family and friend.
A graveside ceremony was held at Fort Ridgely Cemetery on September 11, 2021.
