Richard “Dick” Hoffman, age 78, of Hector, MN passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.

Celebration of Life will be Friday, December 1, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at the Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax, MN. Gathering of Family and Friends will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials preferred.

Richard “Dick” Michael Hoffman was born on September 14, 1945, in Redwood Falls, MN. He was the son of Lee and Betty (Ranzinger) Hoffman. He grew up in the Minnesota River Valley, the oldest of seven children. Dick was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth. He was 3-sport athlete at Franklin High School, where he graduated in 1963. Dick then attended St. John’s University, where he majored in Political Science.

Dick married Marlene Marquardt on December 30, 1983. They had two daughters, Nicolle and Anna. Dick and Marlene shared 18 years of marriage when Marlene passed away on November 12, 2002.

Dick sold insurance for most of his life, but one of his greatest joys came from playing and managing baseball. He was an avid Minnesota sports fan!

Dick is survived by his daughter, Nicolle Hoffman; brothers, Jim (Linda) Hoffman and Tom Hoffman; sister, Deanna (John) Shanahan; sister-in-law, Lorie Hoffman; brother-in-law, John Bauer; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Hoffman; daughter, Anna Hoffman; parents, Lee and Betty Hoffman; brothers, Bob Hoffman and Larry Hoffman; sister, Janet Bauer; sisters-in-law, Laurie Hoffman and Gail Hoffman.
