ROBERT “ROB” SIMON

Robert “Rob” Simon

July 29, 1964-March 13, 2024

Robert “Rob” Simon, of Custer, WI, passed away peacefully at home on March 13, 2024, at the age of 59.

A celebration of life for Rob will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point, WI (3200 Stanley Street). The evening will conclude with a few words being shared by Rob's family.

Rob was born July 29, 1964 at Kindley Air Force Base in St. George, Bermuda; son of the late William Simon and Audrey Lehman. With his dad being in the Air Force it meant making many moves to different bases as a child. His favorite base was in Montana. In 1983, he graduated high school from Tri-County High School in Plainfield, WI. He worked for the Stevens Point YMCA for over thirty years, retiring as the Teen Advisor. The Y was like a second family to him and he loved his time working there. Rob married Theresa (Hoffbeck) Intribus on May 30, 1998.

Rob dedicated his work to mentoring area youth and touched the lives of so many. He had a contagious laugh that could light up any room and he always knew how to put a smile on anyone’s face. In fact, he was a true master of Dad (bad) jokes! Furthermore, he was a dedicated Packer fan. Above all else, Rob was one of the kindest men you would ever meet; conveying his love and compassion to everyone around him through his actions. His proudest accomplishments in life were his family; his daughters, and eventually, his grandchildren. He relished giving his grandchildren golf cart rides around the neighborhood and spending time with them doing their favorite activity - simply playing!

Rob is survived by his wife, Theresa (née Hoffbeck) Intribus-Simon; his daughters, Nikki Intribus and Carlee (Jason) Rendmeister, both of Wisconsin Rapids; and his grandchildren, Alia Faust, Keegan and Harlie Rendmeister. He is further survived by his sisters, Deborah Dawdy of Fox River Grove, IL and Janene Harper of Adams, WI; his brother, James Simon of Arkansas; his stepfather, Gerald Lehman of Hartland, WI; his parents-in-law, Harlan and Cecelia Hoffbeck of Custer and others who called him brother, uncle and dad.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Simon; his mother, Audrey Lehman; and his step-son, Anthony “Tony” Intribus.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Heartland Hospice, especially Kayla and Dorothy, for their compassion and care. To all those who cared for, prayed for, and showed their love for us during this time, there are not enough words to be able to thank you all!

Shuda Funeral Chapels is honored to be assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at shudafuneral.com
