GLEN BLAALID

Glen Blaalid, age 78 of rural Gibbon, MN died on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at his home.

Services were held on Monday, December 23, 2024 with burial in Clear Lake Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery in rural Gibbon. Full military honors were provided by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard.

Glen Arnold Blaalid was born January 16, 1946 in New Ulm, MN to Palmer and Esther (Gregory) Blaalid. He attended and graduated from New Ulm High School in 1964. Following high school, Glen spent four years in the United States Army, serving two of those years in Vietnam. After an honorable discharge from the Army, Glen was employed with Kraft, Shari Candies, and New Ulm Grocery. He was also the caretaker for his parents until their deaths. Glen was an antique dealer and always enjoyed going to flea markets and garage sales. He was artistically inclined, whether it was painting, rosemaling, or any other forms of art. Many memories were made with Glen over his lifetime. He will be dearly missed. Blessed be his memory.

Glen is survived by his brother, DeWayne Blaalid of Gibbon; sister, Margie (Jerry) Buerkle of Spring Valley, WI; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bernell Blaalid; and sister-in-law, Elaine Blaalid.
