The 2022-23 Fairfax Royalty will be crowned on Thursday, June 23, at 7:00 pm at Squirrels Bar & Grill. We’d like to introduce you to the candidates before their coronation!
Kayln Hellendrung is the 17-year-old daughter of Chuck and Denine Hellendrung. She is a student at GFW High School and has two siblings – Zach and Ely.

The Fairfax City Council met June 14, 2022. With the consent agenda, the parade route, Minn-E-Rods event, and 5K route were all approved. A policy for the police department regarding confidential informants was also approved.

Time is a funny thing. Some events make it slow to a crawl, while others make you feel like as though you’re traveling around the sun at several times the normal speed.
For three young Fairfax ladies, the latter is most certainly the case as their year as Fairfax Royalty comes to an end.

After nearly 12 years in Fairfax, Harlan Helgren and his wife Debi, will be heading south – permanently.
Helgren, who has been the President of Frandsen Bank & Trust’s Fairfax branch since 2010, will retire later this month, and the couple will move back to Iowa, which is where he was born and raised.

The regular meeting of the Morgan City Council was held on June 8, 2022.
After the minutes and the agenda were approved, the group talked about some holes on Otto Street. Scott Welter indicated that they have tried to use cold mix to fix the holes, but because it’s gravel, the patches don’t last. Council asked Welter to add some gravel or granite.
