Sibley County Business Expo and Sibley County Senior Expo cancelled

Sibley County has decided to cancel the Sibley County Business Expo that was planned to be held on Tuesday, March 31 at the Henderson Roadhaus, and the Sibley County Senior Expo that was planned to be held on Tuesday, April 21 at the Arlington Community Center, due to concerns with COVID-19.

 In an effort to reduce the possible contact or spread of the virus, the decision to not hold the events have been made.

Reserve 911 calls for emergencies only

The Sibley County Sheriff's Office is asking residents to call their health care provider rather than 911 if they feel they have COVID-19 (Corona Virus} symptoms. Heath care professionals are better equipped to assess symptoms and determine if patients need transport to an emergency room.

Sibley County offices closed to the public

Effective March 23 the Sibley County Courthouse and Sibley County Service Center are closed to public facing services. This action is being taken to preserve the safety net to the citizens of Sibley County by keeping the public and employees safe during the COVID-19 event. We are unsure at this time as to when public facing services will return. Sibley County continues its contact with the State of Minnesota departments and monitors the changes occurring.

Renville County Offices closed to the public

On March 19, 2020, all Renville County offices were closed to the public.

Exceptions will be made for Renville County citizen/client transactions that require an in-person visit and cannot be postponed; these exceptions will require an appointment. The intent of this measure is to implement prevention and protection measures in response to the expanding COVID-19 pandemic.

Cedar Mountain responds to Covid-19

The March Cedar Mountain School Board meeting was called to order on March 16. 

The main discussion of the evening was the district’s response to the closure of all Minnesota schools due to Covid‐19.
