Adeline J. Dickmeyer, age 87, of New Ulm (formerly Fairfax), died peacefully of natural causes on Friday, June 12, 2020, at the Prairie Senior Cottages in New Ulm, MN.

Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Fairfax, MN. Father Bruno Santiago celebrated the Mass, and burial followed in the St. Andrew’s Catholic Cemetery in rural Fairfax.

Adeline Julia Peichel was born February 16, 1933, on the farm in Ridgely Township-Nicollet County to William and Olive (Zitzman) Peichel.

On April 5, 1956, Adeline was united in marriage to Wallace Dickmeyer in Loretto, MN. This union blessed the couple with four children whom together they raised on their farm in rural Fairfax where Adeline worked from the home raising their family and helping on the farm. Besides her work from home, there were a variety of hobbies she enjoyed in life including baking with her mother and daughters, playing cards, and in her later years, watching the Twins.

Adeline was a proud and dedicated member of the Fairfax American Legion Auxiliary, and the Fairfax VFW Auxiliary #8459 where she served as the district president, vice president, and secretary. As a devout member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, she served with the St. Ann’s Ladies Aid, the Christian Mothers, and sang with the church choir. Adeline was also a member of the Stearns County Pioneer Club. These memories and countless others will forever stay in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Adeline is survived by her daughters, Terese (Robert) Sievert of Gibbon and Mary (Larry) Hill of Dayton, OH; sons, Mark Dickmeyer of Champlin, MN and Joel (special friend, Sandy Spreitzer) Dickmeyer of Cleveland, OH; eight grandchildren, Scott, Erin, Deric, Tracy, Todd, Rachel, Melissa and L.J.; fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Janie Staloch, Annie (Tom) Dickmeyer, Pauline (Mike) Sonn and Margaret Moulton; brothers, Phillip, Gerald, Gilbert (Charlene), Kenneth (Lonnie) and Tim (Pat) Peichel; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Dickmeyer who passed in 1994; her parents; granddaughter, Lisa Leora Sievert; great-grandson, J.D. Sievert; brothers, Roger, Gregory, and Daniel Peichel; and sisters, Rosemary Biessel and a baby girl in infancy.
