Lawrence “Larry” James McFarland, age 77, of Henderson, NV, formerly of Franklin, MN, passed away on March 5, 2021.

Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 10 am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church 204 S Boulder Hwy, Henderson, NV 89015. Burial will be in Minnesota at a later date.

He was born on June 9, 1943 in Redwood Falls, MN to John and Alice (Schroeder) McFarland. He married Mary Leah Kuelbs on February 27, 1965 (just celebrated 56 yrs.) in Franklin.

Larry was a humble, gentle, thoughtful, soft spoken and kind-hearted man. He worked as a letter carrier for the United States Post Office for 33 years and farmed on the home acreage for several years. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, ping pong, playing card games with family/friends, and relaxing in the sunshine. He also found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren. Larry enjoyed doing handyman projects at home and for others. He volunteered at the veterans nursing home and with Helping Hands driving seniors to doctors’ appointments and running errands. He was a man of strong faith and was a member of St Peter’s Catholic Church in Henderson, NV. His sweet smile, quiet love, and unique sense of humor will be missed.

Larry is survived by his wife, Mary McFarland; three children, John (Chris) McFarland, Michelle (Darren) Bursch, Sarah (Jesse) Pryor; seven grandchildren, Kelsey McFarland, Katie McFarland, Ashley Bursch, Derek Bursch, Kyle Bursch, Noah Pryor, Joshua Pryor; two brothers, John Tom McFarland, Patrick McFarland; four sisters, Helen Trochlil, Jeanne Hassinger, Kathy Valentin, and Mary Lou Hall.
