LYNDA MARWEDE-LOUCKA

Lynda Marwede-Loucka, age 78, of Willmar, MN passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025 at Vista Prairie at Copperleaf in Willmar.

A memorial service will be on Friday, November 21, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Bird Island with Pastor Kari Shumaker officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in rural Fairfax.  In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to hospice and Our Saviors Lutheran Church.

Lynda Mae Marwede was born on July 14, 1947 in Sleepy Eye, MN to Willis and Mae (Dahlgren) Marwede of Fairfax, MN. She was baptized as an infant at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Bird Island and confirmed in her faith at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fairfax. Lynda graduated from Fairfax High School in 1965 and from St. Cloud State in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science Degree with a Physical Education Major and Math Minor. She taught physical education and math at the middle school level in the public school system in the St. Paul, MN area and later out in the Washington D.C. area. Lynda loved her time living and working in the Boston area as a cosmetologist. She always dreamed of living by the ocean so she moved to Provincetown, MA. To enhance her skill set, she commuted from Provincetown to Boston, taking weekly night classes until she obtained her Esthetics Certification in 2004 from Blaine Beauty School in Boston and worked several years as an esthetician at a high end spa.

Later on in her life, Lynda wanted to live in warmer weather year round so she moved to San Diego, CA and worked as a sales associate for Talbots. In 2012, she moved back to Wayzata, MN to be closer to her family and continued working at Talbots there. In her later years, she lived in Bird Island and Olivia, closer to her brother, Cal and his wife, Karletta and family and attended church with them at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bird Island. Over the years, Lynda enjoyed traveling with friends, her family, being by the ocean or out on the boat on Diamond Lake. She loved dogs, sewing and crafting, and watching her favorite quarterback, Tom Brady, who played football for the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Lynda is survived by her siblings, Lee (Karen) Marwede of Minnetonka, MN, Carla (Lou) Catozzi of Round Rock, TX, Cal (Karletta) Marwede of Bird Island, MN; her nieces and nephews, Jessica Hoernemann of Maple Grove, MN, Jill (Alex) Jurek and their children, Landon, Thatcher, Avery, and Sadie of Becker, MN, Jeff (Ashley) Marwede and their child, Vayda of Mound, MN, Brian Catozzi of Sterling, VA, Colin Catozzi of Kingsland, GA, Aaron (Sarah) Catozzi of Kennesaw, GA, Keaten Marwede and Colton Marwede of Bird Island, MN.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Mae Marwede of Fairfax; paternal grandparents, Charles and Emma Marwede of Fairfax; and maternal grandparents, Alvin and Beda Dahlgren of Bird Island.
