March 18, 1957-November 18, 2021

Paul Conrad Glaeser, age 64 of Gibbon died on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at his home in Gibbon.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at a later date.

Paul Conrad Glaeser was born March 18, 1957, in St. Paul to Ronald W. and Lois (Thorsell) Glaeser. He was a 1975 graduate from Murray High School and later furthered his education at Metro State University where he obtained his undergraduate degree before he attained his degree in law from the William Mitchell College of Law.

He was united in marriage to Suzy Wurtz on November 24, 1989; a union which blessed the couple with one daughter, Ruth. Paul was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Although his voice was quiet, he never shied away from speaking up. He brought grace and ethics to his job as an attorney. He was a lawyer who made house calls and hospital calls and always advised his clients with warmth, but also candor.

Paul proudly served his county in the U.S. Air Force serving for four years during the time of the Cold War. He liked to say, “Nothing happened on my watch.” Paul volunteered for many years on the GFW School Board, the Gibbon Chamber of Commerce, the Air National Guard Museum, and he also served as Chairman of the Riverbend Alternative School Board. Paul was a regular blood donor of whole blood as well as blood platelets. Paul was smart, and deeply funny. His refreshing wry wit tickled many a funny bone. All who spoke of him used the term, “great guy” or “wonderful man”. Being a husband and a father gave him great joy. Although he was taken too soon, countless cherished memories will forever stay in the hearts of all who knew him.

Paul is survived by his wife, Suzy Wurtz of Columbia Heights; his daughter, Ruth Glaeser of Minneapolis; his sisters, Nancy (Carl Falkowski) Glaeser of St. Paul, Holly Glaeser of Phoenix; his brother, John (Trina Mrnak) Glaeser of New Brighton; his nieces, Julia and Ella Glaeser. He is also survived by Mary E. Glaeser; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Lois Glaeser.
