Petrea (Bank) Durnan

Petrea (Bank) Durnan passed away at her home in Tucson, AZ on February 18, 2021, surrounded by her family.

She was born to Vern and Kay Bank on July 5, 1944 in Denver, CO. She graduated from Holy Angels High School and U of M, Minneapolis, MN and then earned a Master’s degree from St. Thomas.

Petrea married Dick Durnan, from Gibbon, MN, on April 16, 1966. She and Dick had two children. The family moved from the Twin Cities to Racine, WI in 1981, and then to Tucson AZ in 1983.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dick Durnan; son, Greg and his wife Chris; daughter, Kelly and her husband Jeff Palmiero; grandson, Dalen Durnan; granddaughters, Katrina, Brianna, and Izabella Palmiero; siblings, Judy, Bonnie, Nancy, Debbie, Bill and their spouses; a brother-in-law, Chuck Durnan and wife Paulette of Park Rapids MN; sister-in-law, Karen and husband Kevin Spaude of Gibbon MN, and many nieces and nephews.

Petrea was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Kay Bank, her parents-in-law, Harry and Pearl Durnan Johnson and Merton Johnson; her brother-in-law, Mike Durnan and his wife Mary; Dick’s niece, Julie Bethel and other relatives and friends.

Petrea will always be remembered by her sunny, optimistic look on life, her warm and caring spirit, and her great ability to love.
