In 2021 the Renville County Historical Society plans on doing a special wedding exhibit. If you or anyone in your family were married in Renville County please submit a photograph, a copy of the wedding invitation, and a clipping of the wedding announcement from the newspaper with the bride and groom information including the date and location of the marriage.

It’s hard to believe, but time is moving quickly, and the end of the school year will be here before you know it. We are very proud of what our dedicated staff, hardworking students, and passionate parents have been able to accomplish this year while facing many challenges. We are now looking forward to the next school year and finding efficiencies that will not only help our budget but expand opportunities for students.

As if a global pandemic wasn’t enough, now we are dealing with some very strange weather all across the country.
If that’s all there was to it, we’d deal with it and move on. The frigid temps we’ve had the last 10 or 15 days haven’t been fun, but we are hearty Minnesotans so we deal with it. But the weather has had a ripple effect on things we might not expect.

Cedar Mountain Elementary students have spent every day for the past two weeks learning to roller skate during their phy ed class. Teacher Mike Freitag found a place where he could rent skates for the two-week period. The kids don helmets and some of them wear wrist guards, but they all have a great time! They even dressed in 80’s attire one day and listened to 80’s music to give them a true feel for what it was like at the roller rinks ‘back in the day’. (Staff photos by Denise Bonsack.)

We all know that the past year has not been easy for many people. The pandemic has resulted in lots of lost jobs, kids out of school, and just in general a very uncertain future for many families in our area.

During the Redwood County Planning Commission meeting on January 26, 2021, an application for rezoning was presented by Dan Purvis of Ratcliffe Development, LLC, representing Dollar General.
This application, if approved, would allow a project that would being a Dollar General store to the Morgan area to proceed to the next steps.
