Drawdown will address issues with common carp, degraded habitat and water quality
Area fisheries managers with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will begin the drawdown process on Sibley County’s Clear Lake this spring. The temporary lowering of water levels on this 505-acre lake is taking place to improve fish and wildlife habitat as well as water quality.

The Franklin City Council met for their final meeting of 2023 on December 13 at 7:00 pm.
Following the approval of the agenda, Mayor Gruendemann opened the truth in taxation public hearing. No guests were present, no comments were made or questions raised, and the public hearing was closed

The Fairfax Civic & Commerce Association invites you to join them for a special evening of good food, music, door prizes and great company at the annual C&C Banquet.
This year’s banquet is scheduled for Saturday, January 27th at Squirrels Bar & Grill. Social hour begins at 6:00 and dinner will be served at 6:30.

The GFW LEGO Advance team traveled to Victoria on Saturday, December 9th for their first competition of the season held at the Holy Family Catholic High School.
This year’s team includes students ages nine to 14 from both the Elementary and Middle Schools, as well as one home-schooled student this year.
At their competition, the team competed against teams from across the state.

Southwest Health and Human Services is conducting a Quality of Life Community Health Survey to better understand the health needs of our communities. Your participation is important and will help identify the health issues that need to be addressed.
