I am excited for the new year as GFW is moving forward with a variety of initiatives as part of the next steps in shaping the district identity and planning for the future of the district. There will be a number of ways for community members, parents, staff, and students to participate in the process starting over the next few weeks.

During a special meeting of the Cedar Mountain School Board held Tuesday, January 5, the group approved a plan to bring all students to school for in-person learning for the first time this year.

Franklin native Brian Pederson has spent most of his life crunching numbers. After graduating from Franklin High School, he went to college at Mankato to be an accountant.
He passed the CPA exam in 1983 and went into public accounting with his brother and cousin up near Walker, Minnesota.

The agreement includes improvements to the gym for continued community and district use.
At their meeting on Wednesday, December 16, the GFW School Board approved the sale of the Fairfax school building to Retro Companies with an agreement that the gym facility and adjacent areas will remain available for school and community use for decades to come.

On Tuesday, December 1, during their second emergency school board meeting in as many weeks, the GFW School Board reviewed the COVID-19 numbers once more, and this time decided to make a change to the District’s learning model.
