The Cedar Mountain Lady Cougars headed for New Ulm on Tuesday, March 16 to take on the New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds in the first game of the Section 2A playoffs.
These two teams met twice during the regular season, with each team earning one win, so how this game would turn out was anybody’s guess.

The number six seed GFW boys’ varsity basketball team traveled to Lester Prairie on Thursday, March 18 to take on the third seed Lester Prairie Bulldogs in the Section 2A quarterfinal game.
The Bulldogs controlled the tip and put the first points on the board.

The Cedar Mountain Cougars headed to Mayer on Thursday, March 18 to take on the number one seed Mayer Lutheran Crusaders in the Section 2A quarterfinal game.
If the Crusaders thought that this was going to be an easy win, they were mistaken.

The Cedar Mountain Cougars hosted the Knights of Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s in their final game of the season on Saturday, March 13.
The Cougars put the first points on the board with a short jumper by Caden Kleinschmidt, but the Knights were quick to answer with back-to-back three pointers to take an early lead.

After earning the number eight seed in the Section 2A North Subsection, the Cedar Mountain Cougars boys’ basketball team hosted the number nine BL-H-S Mustangs on Tuesday, March 16th. In this preliminary round, the winner would advance to take on the number one seed in the north half of the bracket, Mayer Lutheran. The Cougars ended up using a second half surge to carry them to a 58-52 victory.

The GFW varsity basketball team headed to Jordan on Wednesday evening, March 17, to take on the number one seed Jordan Jaguars in the first round of the Section 2AA playoffs.
The T-Birds held the lead for the first several minutes of the game, working hard defensively and making good shots on offense.

The GFW boys’ basketball teams hosted the MVL Chargers on Monday, March 1 in Winthrop.
The Chargers controlled the tip and were first to score. The T-Birds answered quickly with a basket by Damian Hopp, but MVL came back with a quick 6-0 run to take an 8-2 lead in the first few minutes of the game.
