GFW Bi-County Teams begin new season

The GFW Bi-County Rookies team (ages 9 and 10) for 2023 will begin their season on June 7 at home vs. Courtland. Cedar Mountain athletes find success at State Track Meet

Cedar Mountain’s Hailey Hollar and Ellarie Blomeke competed at the State Track Meet held at St. Michael-Albertville High School this past weekend. 

Hollar was there to compete in the 100-meter dash, the 200-meter dash and as part of the 4x100-meter relay team. 

Morgan area Pacesetters team advances to championship

Several Morgan area girls played on this year’s Minnesota State Pacesetter 8th grade championship team. The team went 5-0 during a recent tournament played at the College of St. Benedict. Their victories advance them to the 5-state championship tournament at the Target Center on July 21. Wildcats do well at Section Track Meet

The River Valley Wildcats traveled to Mankato on Saturday, June 3rd to compete in the Section 2A Track Meet at Mankato West High School.

The girls’ team finished second in the team competition with 70 points, and the boys’ team finished 12th with 24 points.

T-Bird track team advance two to State Meet

The GFW Thunderbirds track team headed to Mankato on Saturday, June 3rd to compete at the Section 2A Track Meet.

The girls’ team finished 14th out of 23 teams with a team score of 18 points.

The boys’ team finished seventh with a total score of 34 points.

Wildcats finish strong at Sub-Section meet

The River Valley Track teams traveled to Arlington on Thursday, May 25 to compete in the Sub-Section meet. This event determines which athletes will advance to the Section competition, and ultimately on to the State Meet.

The top eight individuals and the top four relay teams in each event will advance.

The GFW Track teams headed to Sibley East on Thursday, May 25 for the Sub-Section Track meet. This meet determines which athletes will advance to sections, and then, hopefully on to the State Meet. The top eight individuals and the top four relay teams in each event will advance to the Section Meet on Saturday, June 3 at Mankato West.

The GFW boys finished the day in third place with 91 points. 

GFW golfers have a busy season

The GFW golf teams had several events cancelled or postponed due to the weather early in their season. The teams hit the links on May 1 to take on MVL at the Winthrop Golf Course.

The varsity boys’ team finished the day with a team score of 210. Cole Jacobson scored 53 points, while Nate TenEyck added a 52, Lane Olson carded a 51 and Coltan howe had a 54.
