The GFW track teams competed at BOLD on Tuesday, May 9. The boys placed fourth in this event, while the girls placed fifth.
The boys’ team scored 89 points total points.
Justin Messner did a great job in the sprints placing sixth the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.83, fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.30 and winning the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.74.

The River Valley Wildcats took first place at the St. James Area Track and Field invite on Tuesday, May 2.
The girls team finished the day with a team score of 102.
Hailey Hollar finished first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.54, while teammate Kenadi Heiling took 10th place in 32.03, which was a personal record for her.

The GFW girls softball team went head to head with the Wabasso Rabbits in a double-header on Thursday, May 4.
In the first game, the Rabbits outscored the T-Birds 0-10. Taylor Schafer got the lone hit for the T-Birds but wasn’t to complete the circuit before the Rabbits’ defense ended the inning.

The GFW track teams competed at St. Peter on April 24th. The boys’ team finished seventh out of eight teams, earning 50 points.
Justin Messner did a great job in the sprints, finishing seventh in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.12, and sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.54. He also finished fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.69.

GFW competed at Lake Crystal in the warmest meet of the season on April 18. The GFW boys finished the day with 76 points landing them in fourth place out of seven teams.
Alex Johnson had a great day in throwing, placing second in the discus with a throw of 133’, and second in the shot put with a throw of 43’ 6.5’”.

The River Valley Track Team headed to Lake Crystal Welcome Memorial for a meet on April 18.
The girls’ team earned second place in the meet with a total of 127 points.
In the sprinting events, Hailey Hollar won the 100-meter dash with a time of 13:45 and the 200-meter dash in 27.78. Erika Wells added a third-place finish in 14:43.

The Cedar Mountain Cougars made their way to Mankato on Friday, March 17 for the Section 2A final game against the Mankato Loyola Crusaders.
The Cougars hit the ground running and jumped out in front early in the game. They held their advantage through the entire first half, with the lead growing to as many as seven points around the six-minute mark with a score of 23-16.
