T-Bird girls fly past Greyhounds

The GFW Lady T-Birds played host to the New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds on Monday, February 1. 

The T-Birds kicked things off with a three-pointer by Brynn Busse early on. That set the tone for the game, as GFW proceeded to go on an 8-0 run to take an 11-point lead within the first few minutes of the game.

Cougars can’t get past Tigers

The Cedar Mountain Cougars headed to Springfield to take on the Tigers in a Tomahawk Conference matchup on Friday, February 5.

The Cougars kept the score close through the first half, and the teams headed into the halftime break with the score knotted up at 41.

T-Bird girls get zapped by Chargers

The Lady T-Birds went head-to-head with the MVL Chargers on Friday, January 29 in Winthrop. 

The Chargers controlled the tip and it didn’t take them long to put points on the board. 

Cougar boys bound past Indians

The Cedar Mountain Cougars hosted the Sleepy Eye Indians in a Tomahawk Conference matchup on Thursday evening in Morgan.

The game started out slow, with only four points being scored in the first four minutes. But a nice three-pointer by Dakota Pendleton opened things up and gave the Cougars a 5-2 lead. Another three by Cade Schiller added to the Cougars’ lead.

Lady Cougars fall to Indians

The Cedar Mountain girls’ varsity basketball team traveled to Sleepy Eye on Friday evening to take on the Indians of Sleepy Eye Public. 

This game was a close battle to the very end, with both teams working hard for every point and every rebound.

T-Birds get clipped by Tigers in OT

The GFW boys’ varsity basketball team traveled to Springfield on Monday, January 25 to face the Tigers.

The Tigers took the lead early, but the T-Birds rallied, keeping the score close throughout the first half. 

At the halftime break, the Tigers held a tenuous one-point advantage.

Lady T-Birds fall to Rabbits

The GFW girls’ varsity basketball team hosted the Wabasso Rabbits in a Tomahawk Conference matchup on Tuesday, January 19 in Winthrop.

The T-Birds controlled the tip and put the first points on the board with a pair of free throws by Jenna Schweiss to kick things off.

The GFW T-Bird Basketball Team traveled to Wabasso on Monday, January 18 for a Tomahawk Conference matchup.

The T-Birds hit the floor ready to give it their all. Midway through the first half, GFW Senior Damian Hopp scored his 1,000thcareer point.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough, and the Rabbits came away with the win with a final score of 59-75.

The GFW boys’ varsity basketball team hosted the Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s Knights in a Tomahawk Conference matchup on Friday, January 22 in Winthrop. 

The Knights controlled the tip and jumped out ahead early, taking a six-point lead before the T-Birds got on the board.

Johnnie Ambrose broke the Knights’ run with a nice layup taking the score to 6-2.
