On Tuesday, January 19th, the Cedar Mountain Cougars girls’ basketball team made their long-awaited return to the court with a home matchup against the Minnesota Valley Lutheran Chargers. The game marked the beginning of the 2021 season for Cedar Mountain and head coach Joel Christianson. The Chargers came out firing on all cylinders early on and used that momentum to cruise to a 79-48 victory.

The GFW Thunderbird varsity football team hosted the Buccaneers of Waterville- Elysian-Morristown in the Section 2A Quarterfinal game on Tuesday, November 17.

The Cedar Mountain Cougar varsity football team ended their season on Friday night with a 12-32 loss to the Nicollet Raiders in the Section 2 Nine-Man Finals.

The GFW varsity volleyball team hosted the New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds in their final match of the season on Friday evening, November 20. The season was cut short due to a rise in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases across the state, and at the direction of the governor and the Minnesota State High School League.
The T-Birds and the Hounds made the most of their final match with a four-set battle.

The GFW Thunderbirds ended their varsity football season Friday night with a 40-21 victory over Minnesota Valley Lutheran, earning them their second consecutive Section 2A Championship!
Because of the new restrictions implemented by the Governor, post-season play went from quarterfinals directly to finals, and the two highest-seeded teams played each other by default.

The GFW varsity volleyball team traveled to New Ulm on Tuesday, September 17 to take on the Chargers of Minnesota Valley Lutheran.
The T-Birds took the first set easily, with a score of 25-12. The second set was more of the same as the Chargers struggled to find their rhythm. The T-Birds earned set two with a score of 25-15.
