Lady T-Birds defeat Rabbits in season opener

The GFW volleyball team traveled to Wabasso on Thursday, October 8 for their season opener against the Rabbits.

The T-Birds took the match in three sets, with scores of 25-21, 25-21, and 25-23 to earn the win.

T-Birds defeat Concordia Academy in season opener

The GFW varsity football team opened their 2020-21 season with a game against Concordia Academy out of Roseville on Saturday, October 10.

GFW received the ball to start the game, but they weren’t able to convert the fourth down. The Beacons had to punt on their first possession as well.

S-CM Cross Country teams host MVL, Sleepy Eye-NUC

The S-CM Cross Country Teams hosted a triangular meet against MVL and SESM/SEPS/NUC last Thursday, October 1 at the Springfield Golf Course. Both the varsity girls’ and boys’ teams earned first place in their races.

Busy week for the S-CM Cross Country team

The S-CM Cross Country team hosted teams from Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s/ Sleepy Eye Public/ New Ulm Cathedral and Madelia-Truman/Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Martin Luther on Monday, September 21.

Both girls’ and boys’ varsity teams earned the win in this race.

The GFW Thunderbird Cross Country Team hosted Wabasso and S-CM in a triangular meet at the Lions Park in Fairfax on Friday, September 25. 

Football and Volleyball are back this fall

Following a special meeting of their Board of Directors on Monday, September 21, the Minnesota State High School League voted to allow the football and volleyball seasons to commence yet this fall.

S-CM Runners earn a win at MVL
