It is a busy time at the elementary school! Staff have been attending workshops, prepping their classrooms, and planning lessons. The building is shiny thanks to the hard work of the facility maintenance staff, and we are all looking forward to starting the 2022-2023 school year.

Each year the National School Public Relations Association accepts nominations for their Superintendents to Watch award, which recognizes school district leaders from around the country who demonstrate dynamic, fast-paced leadership with strong communication at its core. Award winners us communication technology in innovative and effective ways to engage and inform their school communities and expand two-way communication and outreach efforts.

The GFW School Board met for their regular meeting on Monday, August 15 at the Gibbon site.
The meeting began with Community Recognition, during which the board recognized and thanked Berny Berger for facilitating a $5,000 donation from Bayer Fund’s America’s Farmers Grow Communities. The donation will be used to enhance the AEM (Agriculture, Engineering and Manufacturing) Academy.

Gibbon resident Bernie Berger recently directed a $5,000 Bayer Fund America’s Farmers Grow Communities donation to GFW Public Schools and was recognized at the August 15 meeting of the GFW School Board for her support of the school districts. The district will use the funds to expand programming for middle and high school grades under the new career-focused pathways and academies programs, specifically the Agriculture, Engineering & Manufacturing (AEM Academy).
