The GFW Track teams headed for Arlington on Thursday, May 26 for the Sub-Section track meet. This event determines who will advance to the next level of post-season competition.
As a team, the GFW boys place fourth in the meet with 67 points. The girls’ team finished 10th with 45 team points.

Several members of the GFW track teams earned first place finishes at the Conference Meet in Sleepy Eye last week.
Olivia Schwarzrock took first in both the shot put and discus. In the shot put, she had a throw of 38’ 3.5”, and in the discus her winning throw stretched to 125’ 8”.

The GFW golf teams hosted the New Ulm Cathedral Greyhound golfers at the Winthrop Golf Course on Thursday, May 5. While the Greyhounds came away with the win, the T-Bird golfers had a good day on the links.

The GFW golf teams hosted the MVL Chargers in a Tomahawk Conference meet on Monday, May 2 at the Winthrop Golf Course.
The Chargers came away with the win for both the girls and the boys’ teams. For the boys, the Chargers finished the day with a score of 197, while the T-Birds carded a score of 233.

The first of three Tomahawk Conference golf tournaments was held at Oakdale Golf Course on Wednesday, May 4.
The GFW girls don’t have enough golfers for a complete team, but Jenna Schweiss and Marti Jacobson finished third and ninth in the individual scoring for the day with scores of 102 and 118 respectively.
