The GFW girls’ varsity basketball team hosted the Sleepy Eye Indians in a Tomahawk Conference battle on Friday, January 7 in Winthrop.
The game was a battle from the start. Both teams did a good job of keeping their fouls and their turnovers to a minimum. The T-Birds worked hard to get their shots to fall, and it paid off. At the end of the first half, GFW held a 30-25 advantage.

The GFW T-Bird boys’ basketball teams traveled to Lester Prairie on Tuesday, January 4 to face the Bulldogs of Lester Prairie Holy Trinity in a Section 2A matchup.
The teams traded baskets to start the game, keeping the score close. GFW gained a small lead, and the Bulldogs rallied to close the gap again.

The GFW T-Birds hosted the Sibley East Wolverines in a Tomahawk Conference battle on Monday, December 20.
The Wolverines scored first and held onto the lead for several minutes, but midway through the first half, the T-Birds rallied, and gained the advantage.

The Cedar Mountain Lady Cougars traveled to Springfield on Tuesday, January 4 to face the Springfield Tigers in a Tomahawk Conference.
The Tigers hit the ground running, jumping out in front early in the game. They never looked back. By the halftime break, the Tigers held a 7-35 lead over the Cougars.

The Cedar Mountain Cougar boys’ basketball team traveled to Wabasso on Friday, January 7.
Both teams hit the floor ready to work. The Cougars did a good job of moving the ball, making good passes, and making good use of their shot opportunities.
