The Cedar Mountain Cougar boys opened their 2021-22 season on the road with a Tomahawk Conference match-up against the MVL Chargers on Friday, December 3 in New Ulm.

GFW Senior Treay Taylor was named KNUJ’s Offensive Player of the Year at the recent fall season Player of the Year Banquet hosted by the New Ulm area radio station.
It's easy to see why Taylor was selected to receive this award when you review the numbers.
According to team statistics, Taylor carried the ball 190 times for a total of 1802 yards or an average of 163.8 rushing yards per game.

The GFW bowling teams participated in the Conference tournament in Hutchinson on Sunday, November 14.
The GFW JV Black team was named the Conference Champs with a record of 13-2 for their regular season.
The tournament began with a ‘pool play’ of eight games. From there, the top four teams moved into a single elimination bracket based on total pin count from the first round.

The Cedar Mountain varsity volleyball team ended their 2021-22 season with a loss to the Cleveland Clippers in the Section Championship game on Thursday, November 4 in Mankato.
The Cougars struggled a bit in the first set, and the Clippers came away with a 14-25 victory.
In the second set, the Cougars rallied a bit, but the Clippers, riding the momentum of the first set, managed another victory with a final score of 22-25.

The GFW Varsity football team traveled to New Prague on Friday, November 5 to face the Mayer Lutheran Crusaders in the Section 2A Final.
The T-Birds hosted the Crusaders in their first game of the regular season and won that game with a final score of 32-27. That game proved to be the Crusaders’ only loss of the season.

The Cedar Mountain varsity football team headed to Marshall on Thursday, November 4 to face the Renville County West Jaguars in the 2021 Section 2 9-Man Championship game.
These two teams met earlier in the season, and the Jaguars came away with a win then, so the Cougars were determined to turn the tables on them this time.
The Jaguars, however, had a different idea of how things should go, so it was a battle from the start.
